How To Set Up Arlo Essential Camera

You can set up arlo essential camera for your home security very easily. You can connect the camera with your home router directly. Also you can connect it with an arlo base station/ smarthub if you have one. Steps involved to connect the device are as under:

Charge Your Camera

Before commencing arlo essential camera setup, you need to charge it. With the camera you will get a USB type-C charging cable. Insert the cable in the camera charging port. Connect the other end of the same cable in the USB adapter and connect it with the power outlet. Turn on the power and let the device charge. Once the device LED turns into solid blue color you can move ahead with the setup process.

Meanwhile when your camera is plug-in for charging you can install arlo secure app. Downloading the application is necessary to complete the setup. For this you need a smartphone. Proceed with the installation process of app as mentioned:

• Connect your bluetooth enabled smartphone with your home WiFi network to use the internet.
• Now search for an arlo secure app after opening the google play store in android or app store in IOS device.
• Once you find the app, click on it and then choose the install option to start downloading.
• Wait till the app installed in your smartphone and then proceed with the arlo essential camera setup.

Create/ Login Arlo Account

Now you need to use the arlo secure app. To use the app you need an arlo account. In case you are an existing user of arlo then login to your account. In case you are a new user then create an account by hit on “create an account” option.

Configure Your Device

To begin the arlo essential camera setup you need to follow few significant steps as mentioned:

• Open the arlo app and then go to the device option mentioned in the last on the app screen.
• A new screen appears from where you have to select the plus icon given in the top right corner.
• Now you have to choose Cameras from the screen and then Essential Series
• Thereafter choose Essential Cameras 2nd Generation and proceed with arlo essential camera setup.
• Take your essential camera device you have and press the pair button given on it.
• Hold the pair button for about 3 seconds, release the button and then the device LED starts flashing blue.
• The app will guide you to connect your camera with your home network.
• From the two connection options given under you need to opt any one
• With smart hub/ base station
• Without smart hub/ base station
• After choosing you need to provide the information accordingly as asked on the screen
• As your camera found, name it to complete the arlo essential camera setup and press continue.

Check For Firmware Update

Now you need to check for your device firmware, if an update is available as shown in the app, install it first. Once the firmware updation completes you can install your device.
