Arlo Indoor Camera Setup Requirements

While setting up your arlo camera, you need a few items. These items include:

2.4Ghz Wi-Fi network

Arlo Essential Indoor Camera Setup Process

Arlo Indoor Camera Setup can be done through two ways. You can connect the camera directly to your home wifi router or use an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station. You can opt any of the methods as per your convenience and requirement. Step by step guides for both the ways are mentioned underneath.

Initial Setup

For arlo indoor camera setup you have to follow the initial setup steps. These steps are mandatory to go with any of the ways to connect your arlo camera.

To begin the arlo essential indoor camera setup, you need a mobile phone.
On your phone you need to download arlo app that is available to download on both google play store & app store.
Once the application is installed you need to begin the process by creating your arlo account.
Open the arlo app and choose the “create account” option. Then enter your name, email and create a password for the arlo account.
Choose the continue option and verify the email you entered to pursue.
Afterwards you need to go to the device option and then tap on plus sign given in the top corner
Select camera from the appeared list and then choose the essential option.
Next choose the Essential Indoor Camera option and select the continue option.

Directly To Wi-Fi Router

Connect your arlo essential indoor camera directly to your home WiFi router by following these setup steps:

Now choose connect without Arlo SmartHub or Base Station option and click continue.
Enter your home network SSID & Password as asked on the screen to connect the device directly to your home network.
Now turn on your arlo camera by using the cable and power adapter you got with your arlo device
When device started, the privacy shield opens and you need to hit on continue option
Press the sync button on the camera for about 3 seconds and wait till the LED starts flashing blue.
Hit on continue option and then hold the QR Code shown on the app about four to six inches in front of your arlo camera.
Hear the chime sound and click on continue option. Aro secure app will start looking for the camera.
Name your camera device, tap the continue option and position your camera.
Finish the arlo essential indoor camera setup by press continue option.

With An Arlo SmartHub or Base Station

To connect with base station or arlo smarthub, you need to move further with given steps:

Choose connect with Arlo SmartHub or Base Station option and click continue.
Thereafter turn on your arlo camera by using the cable and power adapter you got with your arlo device
The privacy shield opens as device starts, you need to hit on continue option
Press the pair button on the camera for about 3 seconds, wait till the LED starts flashing blue and then hit on continue option
Hold the QR Code shown on the app about four to six inches in front of your arlo camera and hear the chime sound
Click on the continue option and the app will start looking for the camera.
Once done, you can name your camera device,
Select the continue option, position your camera and finish the arlo essential indoor camera setup by press continue option.
